My public media work includes features in TV, printed media, online distributions, and radio. I see this as a useful source to inform the interested public and to raise awareness about my work and medical aspects of cosmetic surgery.
Medicine does not stand still after medical school. For plastic surgeons, it is important to understand scientific methods and to stay updated with medical literature. Relevant articles are distributed in specialist journals such as the Journal of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (JPRAS) or Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (PRS). My own research activities include a PhD for my thesis “Synthesis of the GABA-erg Steroids 5alpha-Pregnan-3,20-dione und 5alpha-Pregnan-3alpha-ol-20-one in Human Brain Tumours in vitro”. During my working life, I have also published a number of scientific papers in peer reviewed medical journals and presented on national and international plastic surgical meetings. Furthermore, I have contributed several book chapters to the eLPRAS online education project. I have been invited to review other author’s scientific work as a peer reviewer as well. Pubmed is the leading online resource for doctors where my articles can be searched.
